SIR PETER BLAKE VISIT TO GALLERY
In addition to being the guest of honour at the opening of the Tate’s new summer show, Sir Peter Bake visited here at the gallery where we are showing his prints- ‘Love’ a portfolio of signed, limited edition, diamond dust prints created by the artist in 2004.
Blake, accompanied by his wife Chrissie, shared Newlyn crab sandwiches and a glass of wine with us, before taking a stroll around the harbour. Conversation focused on many subjects, Ian Dury, Alison Lapper and the future of fishing in Newlyn. ‘His visit was a real pleasure’ said Nickie ‘He was thoroughly entertaining company, full of witty, fascinating anecdotes, yet really a very modest, quietly spoken man”
